Gentle Hatha Mindfulness Yoga Class

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workshop

An 8 – week workshop; plus a Day of Mindfulness
Held at the Healing Lodge next to the Loran Smith Center at 240 Talmadge Drive on the campus of Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center
There has been over thirty years of scientific research at medical centers all over the world. This research suggests that training in mindfulness through Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction workshops reduces stress, anxiety, and increases general well-being, health and happiness.
Registration fee includes eight weeks of instruction, a day of mindfulness, workbook and handouts, and two CDs with guided mindfulness practices.
Ancient wisdom and modern science are blended in this workshop, creating one of the most effective programs for healthy and happy living available today. Learn how to reduce your stress, change your relationship to physical or emotional pain, and cope better with everyday demands. Deepen your relationship with yourself, others, and your world. You will receive guided instruction in mindfulness meditation, body-scan, yoga and more. These practices lead to less stress – greater health and happiness, in your life. The workshop also includes how to be more mindful when communicating and explores ways to integrate mindfulness more fully into your life. The day of mindfulness retreat is a time to deepen your mindfulness practices, held Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9a.m. – 3p.m..

This MBSR workshop is based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR program at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts.

Day of Mindfulness Retreat – October 14, 2017, Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. For people with a mindfulness practice; a way to deepen or “renew” your meditation practices. A variety of guided mindfulness practices will be offered. Please bring your own lunch and plan to eat at the retreat. The retreat is held mostly in silence, allowing you to focus your attention inward. And you will have the support of the group. Cost: $45.00. Free Mindfulness Practice and Discussions
Mindfulness Practice Evening meets – from 5:30 – 6:30-p.m. on the second Friday, monthly.
